Sometimes the Reviewer Teaches the Developer
Situation
Donald had been using an iPhone for years. He had built numerous iOS apps, explored countless features, and spent hours navigating Apple's ecosystem.
Then Golden Hold'em v1.0 was rejected under Guideline 2.1.
Apple asked for a screen recording demonstrating the app's functionality on a physical device.
Turning Point
Donald needed to record his iPhone screen.
A small discovery followed: the Screen Recording control wasn't in his Control Center. He learned how to add another control, something he had somehow missed after years of using the iPhone.
The reviewer had unintentionally become his teacher.
Emergence
The recording was completed. Golden Hold'em went back into review.
But something else had happened: Donald had learned a new iPhone trick while preparing to demonstrate an app he had built himself.
The rejection had produced an unexpected little victory.
Learning
Learning doesn't always come from looking for something new.
Sometimes, a problem sends us somewhere we've never explored. Sometimes, the person reviewing our work teaches us something about the tools we use every day.
And sometimes, even an app rejection is a learning opportunity.
